New grant: ARPA-H PSI program for surgical guidance

Join me celebrating a new grant from ARPA-H PSI program as a co-I and Chief Imaging Device Manager! Our team has won an award of up to $20.9 million over five years from the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) to develop novel technologies for precise tumor removal. ARPA-H is a federal funding agency established by the Biden-Harris administration to rapidly advance high-impact biomedical research centered around preventing, detecting, and treating cancer and other diseases.


This grant will fund 5 year of research with our multi-disciplinary team with Emad Boctor (PI), Jin U. Kang, Peter Kazanzides, Mathias Unberath, Russell H. Taylor, Jeeun Kang, Ray Koehler, Jacky Jennings, Lisa Jacobs, Ashley Cimino-Mathews. From UT Southwestern: Martin Pomper, M.D., Ph.D. From NIH: Brad Wood, Peter Pinto. Industry Partners: Kitware Inc., Intuitive Surgical Devices.
